Although it is difficult to speak of a hedgehog, given that we are dealing with many species of this plant, we should not forget that at least a few of them have therapeutic properties. So, how do the preparations that use rosemary work and under what circumstances it is best to reach for them?
The hedgehog itself is a member of the Rough-leaved family and up to 130 species can now be mentioned. The vast majority of them develop in a warm climate, including tropical Africa and America, so it is not surprising that growing a hedgehog in Poland is possible only in apartments. Local breeders do not seem to be bothered by this in any particular way.
Medicinal plant resin: properties
The plant is highly valued mainly because it has visually attractive flowers and leaves, but more and more is being said about its health-promoting properties as well. Here the foreground is the calanchoe feathery, also known as live feathery. Its therapeutic properties and chemical composition are still the subject of research, but it is worth emphasising that we know more and more about it. The fleshy tissues of the plant attract attention mainly because they are characterized by high content of vitamins, especially vitamin C.
However, they also contain mineral salts, fatty acids and flavonoids. All this makes the resin juice is able to impress us with antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. It also has a regenerating, astringent and even slightly anaesthetic effect. Among the preparations obtained from it, for example, macerates and extracts are mentioned, although a large group of supporters also have the raw juice itself.
They are used primarily in the treatment of skin diseases, including acne as well as ulcers and fungal infections - even in their complex form. Not without significance are also anti-inflammatory, regenerating and coating properties of plants, because these help in the treatment of inflammatory states of the pharyngeal mucosa and oral cavity. The varicose veins can also be invaluable when we want to alleviate the symptoms of gastritis and when there is a need to treat ulcers attacking the digestive tract.
Skincare resin
Because the resin has regenerative properties, it is often used for skin care. It has a nourishing, astringent and moisturizing effect, at the same time allowing for faster regeneration of minor damage.
Home made resin preparation
If you do not want to look for preparations with the use of resin in drugstores and pharmacies, you can prepare them yourself. It is best to use fresh, healthy leaves from home-growing. They themselves can be used as a poultice if we cut their skin from underneath and apply them directly to the affected area. However, you can also mix them, wipe them through a sieve and drink.
